Battlefield 1 Expansions

Battlefield 1 owners who haven't looked into the game's expansions yet can now do so for free, at least for a short while.

Announced recently through the Battlefield Twitter account, Battlefield 1 players can try out the first two expansions at no cost until Dec. 4. These two expansions include They Shall Not Pass and In the Name of the Tsar, two DLCs that will set you up with new weapons, maps, and plenty of content to keep you busy.

If you haven't tried the expansions yet and aren't sure what to expect, here are some details straight from EA DICE to give you an idea of what's in store.

They Shall Not Pass

"Play as one of the most ferocious armies in WW1 – the French. Engage in the savage fighting around the furnace of Verdun, and descend into the bowels of Fort de Vaux where barbarous battles rage in the gas-filled corridors. Take part in the largest tank assault of the war by the Aisne riverbanks."

In the Name of the Tsar

"Enter the biggest front of WW1 with the Russian Army. Ride in Galicia with the legendary Hussars during the Brusilov offensive. Partake in the skirmishes of the Albion assault in a freezing archipelago and fight in the snow covered ravines of the treacherous Lupkow Pass."

The next expansion, Turning Tides, launches on Dec. 11 with even more content to play through. You can get a head start on Turning Tides if you own a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, but if you haven't bought one yet, we've got some fantastic news for you. The Premium Pass is just $15 right now across all platforms, a price that makes it less than half the original cost. It guarantees you access to the first two expansions that are now free as well as the next two ones to come.

The free trial for They Shall Not Pass and In the Name of the Tsar ends on Dec. 4, but it'll go live again on Dec. 8 if you miss it this time.
