But it certainly didn’t forget its avid FIFA fan base, since its soccer game is considered one of the most popular in the world. So, of course, it also had a new trailer for FIFA 18 on hand, showcasing some fresh new gameplay from the forthcoming soccer sim, set to the tune of a remix of the classic 80’s song “Blue Monday.”
It’s more based around cinematics than actual gameplay, but it really demonstrates how well the team has utilized the new engine technology, so it’s more realistic looking than ever before. Plus, the gameplay will offer up a number of new fundamentals, which you can easily grasp when it comes to playing defense and scoring goals like a boss.
The game will feature a number of current superstars and teams from around the world to choose from, as well as a handful of Icons, with a variety of players being available. These include Christiano Ronaldo, who will be the first of many to come, probably through the FIFA Ultimate Team mode โ and, yes, that will be making a return. You’ll also be able to guide a young player through the ranks in the returning mode The Journey, so you can see all the highs and lows that come with being a soccer star.
Those of you who pre-order the game will automatically gain access to Ronaldo from the FUT mode, as well as eight special edition FUT kids, and Jumbo Premium Gold FUT packs. You’ll also be able to enjoy the game early via EA and Origin Access, with up to ten full hours of play starting on September 21st.
Now the only real question is how the Switch version will look, since this is more of a representative of the other versions of the game. We’ll have to wait and see how the new footage measures up, but here’s hoping that we’ll get our kicks in with that version soon enough!
FIFA 18 will release on September 29th for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, as well as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
