For the past few months, Humble Bundle has offered a remarkable number of deals for games on PlayStation consoles, PC and even Nintendo systems, and has also scored major points with its Humble Monthly digital game program, offering up great deals for just $12 a month. As a result, its business has attracted the attention of a big-name buyer – IGN.

The media site has announced today that it has acquired the popular game site, although terms from the deal were not disclosed, so we're not sure how much IGN paid for them. It's probably a good amount, though, considering that Humble Bundle is loved by millions of gamers.

That said, IGN has no plans to incorporate its label into the Humble business. It's still intended to operate independently, despite the acquisition, with no changes to staff or business. That means the site will still offer plenty of great package deals in the future to help out charity, as well as its Humble Monthly program and separate game store.

Both Humble cofounder John Graham and IGN executive vice president Mitch Galbraith made note that the business will not change a single thing with the acquisition. "If it's not broken, don't fix it," said Galbraith, who noted that the media site was looking into buying Humble Bundle around a year ago. "The idea is just to feed them with the resources they need to keep doing what they're doing."

"We want to stick to the fundamentals in the short term. We don't want to disrupt anything we're doing right already," Graham noted. "Because of the shared vision and overlap of our customer bases, there's going to be a lot of opportunities."

Humble Bundle has been running for some time, helping raise money for charity since 2010. With that, it's managed to raise over $100 million from its programs, indicating that IGN wants to continue that success. It's unknown if Humble will introduce something new from the acquisition, but it sounds like it'll be business as usual for the time being – and that's good news for gamers looking to snag great bargains on their games.

We'll see what comes of the deal over the next few months!
