For the first time in recorded human history, members of My Nintendo can spend their Gold Points to get real life games to play. Now wait. I know what you're thinking:

"What are Gold Points?"

Points are My Nintendo's rewards system, rewarding customers for using Nintendo's services like the e-shop or downloading Nintendo apps, like the ancient relic MiiTomo. The points come in two tiers, allowing users to redeem the points corresponding to that point's tier. Gold points are earned by buying digital games from the eShop or website, or by buying a Switch.

Now that you got some points, Nintendo wants you to redeem them for some Nindies, or games from Nintendo's independent developers. If you've got a Nintendo 3DS or Wii U, you can choose from the following games:

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien for 90 Gold Points

The Wii U title is a rhythm platformer where players run along to soundtracks as they traverse five worlds and over 125 levels, with a few boss battles sprinkled in for good measure.

Zen Pinball 3D for 50 Gold Points

You can't go wrong with a little pinball, especially if it's in 3D. This game uses the stereoscopic view to bring you "most advanced ball physics in a video pinball game to date". I don't think they're messing around.

Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo for 60 Gold Points

I'll just let the developers tell you about this…nutty 3DS title: "Mr Nibbles goes nuts for acorns and he's on a mission to reclaim his stash from the pesky critters who stole them so he can feed his growing family." This is a squirrel on a mission, and only you can help him.

Art of Balance for 70 Gold Points

Now for something a little more chill. Use the Wii U GamePad to build and balance a tower in this physics-based brain-breaker. It's like Jenga, but…in reverse?

All of these games are available for your redemption in the Nintendo eShop.
