Microsoft’s strategy for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One has played out pretty well, with the game selling over four million copies and attracting tons of players, despite some early glitches with the game coming out of the gate.

That said, though, it appears that there’s a new titan in town – and it’s Epic Games’ Fortnite.

The company’s latest posting of its most played games on Xbox One notes that, although PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to be a highly popular title on the platform, it can’t keep up with Fortnite, which sits firmly in the number one slot. PUBG is close behind at number two.

Exact sales numbers weren’t given, but Fortnite has been picking up tremendously for Epic Games – so much, in fact, that it decided to shut down its Paragon project to give it more support.

The rest of the top games for the platform are familiar favorites with action fans. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has a third place position, with players getting ready for its latest round of content; Call of Duty: WWII is close behind in fourth; and, after all these years, Grand Theft Auto V continues to shine in the fifth place spot.

Other games in Microsoft‘s top ten include NBA 2K18, which recently earned the honors for best-selling sports game of the past year, along with the surprising indie game Roblox; Capcom’s impressive Monster Hunter World; the indie favorite ARK: Survival Evolved, the hit football game Madden NFL 18; and Blizzard’s Overwatch: Origins Edition.

Now the real question is, what will Microsoft do to try and push PUBG‘s popularity back into the first place spot? It’s got a ways to go, since it goes for $29.99 while Fortnite offers action on a free-to-play basis. Not to mention the fact that PUBG is still in Game Preview mode, with no estimated timeframe for the full version to release.

We’ll see how the two games fare in the months ahead, but it’s going to be quite the interesting battle to watch.

Fortnite is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC; and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available on Xbox One and PC.
