Splatoon 2 Is Getting Some Cool Summer Gear This Weekend

As if you didn't already have enough incentive to play Splatoon 2 on your weekends, Nintendo looks to be dropping in some tropical gear that will have you playing through the game even more to get.
The company's Japanese Twitter account revealed the gear earlier today, which looks to have a number of goods to unlock for your character to make them look absolutely set for summer. While you won't be getting swimsuits or anything like that, there is some pretty cool stuff to get here.
For instance, those of you looking for a new t-shirt will be awarded with either a bright red one with white stenciled designs on the front, or a white shirt with some magenta and green-based print, featuring some weird logo on its front. Hey, we're down with either.
It looks like you'll also be able to attain a summer hat of sorts, with what appears to be a bright pink ribbon around it, so you don't need to walk around with squid hair all the time. There also appears to be a pair of glasses on hand, so you can look cool while you snipe fools with your paint guns.
Finally, it appears that some new sneakers are on hand for those of you that want to walk around in style, including a solid black design with some coloring on the bottom side, or some funky yellow and red sneakers that will give you a great deal of traction as you run around the map. Nintendo hasn't confirmed whether this event will be rolled out globally, but previous Splatoon 2 activities have been known to do so, and it looks like everything kicks off tomorrow, so we should be in good hands. And there's more than likely some gear coming our way later this year with other special events and Splatfests, so make sure you prep yourself for unlocking cool things within the game. We just want to know when a Mario themed clothing line (with Cappy!) is coming our way…
