One fan of Marvel Comics has been the hero the Internet has been waiting all too long for. They took an iconic comic book cover and reimagined it with live-action heroes.
Unfortunately, the idea of this epic fan-made poster will likely only ever be just that.
Pulling from the design of Avengers vs. X-Men's first issue, a graphic artist put the characters seen in Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe and 20th Century Fox's X-Men movie universe against one another. At the forefront of the battle of Chris Evans' Captain America an Tom Holland's Spider-Man, opposite James McAvoy's Professor X and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

While the poster is the stuff fanboy dreams are made of, it will only be a dream. 20th Century Fox retains the rights to the X-Men characters while Disney and Marvel Studios own the rights to the Avengers characters. This does, however, allow the characters to come to the screen on a more regular basis, with three X-Men films and three Avengers films arriving in 2018.
The next big ensemble, however, will be Avengers: Infinity War in May.
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”
The expansive confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the villain Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel are filming back-to-back for a May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 release, respectively.
