Fan-Made Poster Imagines X-Men Meeting Avengers In "AXIS"

While there are many implications of the Walt Disney Company's purchase of 21st Century Fox's entertainment assets, many fans are looking forward to the possibility of the X-Men finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One fan imagined that first meeting with a poster of a movie based on the comic event AXIS, introducing the mutants to Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Check it out below:

"Who the hell are you guys supposed to be?" by Eren Gürocak from Marvel

The art by Eren Gürocak appears to be a modified take on one of the posters for the Doctor Strange movie. The modifications include Captain America and Iron Man joining the Sorcerer Supreme in his Sanctum Sanctorum, as the Master of the Mystic Arts opens a portal.

Who else but Hugh Jackman's Wolverine steps through the portal, leading from the Danger Room at Xavier's mansion.

The piece is appropriately titled "Who the hell are you guys supposed to be?"

Gürocak has made plenty of fan posters before, but few are likely to rile people up like this one.

The AXIS comic from Marvel Comics featured the Avengers and X-Men teaming up to take out the Red Skull, but an event causes many people's moral centers to be "inverted." Heroes became villains and vice versa, most notably Sabretooth who has been a member of the X-Men ever since.

It's pretty unlikely that the first meeting of the X-Men and the Avengers would be a take on this event, which built upon years of hostility in the comics after the AvX war. Nor is it likely that Hugh Jackman would return to reprise his role as The Best There Is At What He Does.

But it's fun to speculate how Marvel would incorporate one of their flagship properties into the well established cinematic universe.

Of course, just because the deal has been announced doesn't mean it's immediate or even a sure thing. The purchase still has to be ok'd by the federal government, and it could take until 2019 for the paperwork to be finalized.

Rest assured, Kevin Feige is likely putting the pieces in place to introduce the X-Men to the MCU. If he hasn't already, that is…
