According to Deadline, the actress will be playing a major character, but 20th Century Fox will not release any information about her role.
Kutsuna is joining a star-studded cast as Deadpool 2 has gathered stellar talent. Josh Brolin was added to the film as Cable, a time-traveling mutant who is part man and part machine. Zazie Beetz was hired to play Domino, and Jack Kesy has been brought on for a reported villainous role.
Deadpool 2 will also feature many returning stars from the original film. Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapacic, and Brianna Hildebrand will reprise their roles for the sequel.
If you are not familiar with Kutsuna, then you should know the actress has been praised for her work in recent indie films. Most recently, the Japanese-Australian actress starred in Oh Lucy! opposite Josh Hartnett. The actress has also starred in The Outsider opposite Jared Leto as well as Shinichi Kudo’s Written Challenge and BECK.

David Leitch will direct the sequel, taking over for original Deadpool director Tim Miller. Fox is reportedly aiming for a June start of production in Vancouver. Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth. For the sequel, he’ll be joined by Josh Brolin as Cable. Cable was co-created by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson. He has often been paired with Deadpool as his grim, serious demeanor serves as the perfect foil to Deadpool’s crude and zany humor. The duo headlined an ongoing comic book series, Cable & Deadpool, for 50 issues.
Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has also been cast in Deadpool 2. She will play Domino, a mutant with probability manipulation abilities that endows her with improbably good luck. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Domino was a member of Cable’s mercenary crew, Six Pack, and one of his early love interests.
Deadpool 2 opens in theaters on June 1, 2018.
