Ryan Reynolds as released online the Deadpool short that precedes Logan in theaters.

The short sees Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as everyone’s favorite Merc with a Mouth. Deadpool comes upon a man being assaulted and dives into a phone booth to change into his costume, Superman style. It ends up taking longer than it should and things go poorly for the victim. This version of the short is extended from the one in theaters and features a cameo by Stan Lee.
There were rumors that Deadpool would make an appearance in Logan, but Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold all denied it. It turns it out the rumors may have been started as a result of this short.
Deadpool made plenty of fourth wall breaking jokes about Hugh Jackman and Wolverine. Reynolds and Jackman’s working relationship goes all the way back to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the first Wolverine solo movie and the first film in which Reynolds played Deadpool. It makes some amount of sense that Reynolds would involve himself in some small way with Jackman’s final film as Wolverine.
Reynolds is currently working on pre-production for Deadpool 2. The sequel will introduce Cable into the X-Men Movies franchise, which is teased by the “Nathan Summers Is Coming” graffiti on the phone booth. The film will also feature Domino.

Logan is now playing in theaters.
