The MCU may not stay true to everything in Marvel Comics lore, but Kevin Feige has revealed that a new set of characters are sticking to their traditional backstories. We’re talking, of course, about The Collector and The Grandmaster.

The casual fan may have noticed that The Collector (Benicio Del Toro) and The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) bear a striking resemblance. They both have white hair, markings on their chin, and a very odd sense of style.

This is because both men are elders in the Marvel universe and, in the comics, the duo are also brothers.

While speaking with CinemaBlend, Feige said that this relationship will carry over into the MCU. This helps to explain Goldblum’s small cameo in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 credits.

“We had footage of just Goldblum dancing and thought it would be fun to put it in there. And as you know from the comics, he’s The Collector’s brother. Keep an eye out at a particular theme park attraction opening soon, you’ll get to see a little crossover… It’s just a fun thing. I don’t even know — you’re the first person to even mention that!”

Of course, the ride Feige is talking about is Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, in Disney Land California. The ride is set to open this year, and this comment reveals that both characters will be making an appearance.
