ComicBook’s Brandon Davis had a chance to visit the set of Thor: Ragnarok, and producer Brad Winderbaum had something to say about Thor’s best friends. When the press noted how the film appears to leave the characters out, the producer admitted “that’s not necessarily the case.” Widerbaum then confirmed Thor: Ragnarok would reveal what has happened to the team in light of Hela’s takeover of Asgard.
Fans are surely excited to catch up with Sif and the Warriors Three, but they may not like what they find. The cast and crew of Thor: Ragnarok have teased the film is one which its hero cannot come back from. Thor will be permanently damaged by the film’s events, and part of his hurt could come from the grief of losing friends.
Still, fans are expecting to see the heroes in the film. Various reports have suggested Sif and the Warriors Three were spotted on the set of Thor: Ragnarok. Given Winderbaum’s note, fans feel confident the Asgardians will be seen in the sequel one way or another. However, their appearances may crop up just to show their deaths at Hela’s hands.
Of course, there’s always a chance the gang isn’t subjected to Hela’s wrath. Sif and the Warriors Three would have been present once Loki took rule over Asgard. The friends may have seen through the god’s ruse and been exiled from Asgard under Odin’s so-called command. The note would explain why the gang aren’t around to help Thor and his new team take down Hela. So, for now, fans can hold hope that Thor’s friends won’t be offed in the MCU just yet.
Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters on November 3, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War will arrive on May 4th, 2018.
