It looks like yet another couple in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is on the rocks. Fans were heartbroken when they learned Tony Stark’s longterm relationship with Pepper Potts had gone south, and Bruce Banner had a rather unfortunate fallout with Betty Ross years ago. Steve Rogers’ affair with Peggy was cut tragically short. And, now, it seems like Thor and Jane Foster are never ever getting back together. But don’t worry; Thor may have another lady in his sights.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the head of Marvel Studios dished details about Thor: Ragnarok. It was there that fans were told about Thor and Jane’s break-up, but Feige did give the Asgardian some hope. During the conversation, the producer explained how Thor and Tessa Thompson’s character Valkyrie will interact. And, from the sound of it, the mythical warrior may be more than enough to make Thor smitten.
“We wanted Thor to encounter somebody that was near his equal and that his relationship with Jane may have evolved in unexpected ways in between The Dark World and Ragnarok and we wanted to pit him against a character who was much more his equal and in many ways his superior,” Feige said.
Continuing, the producer then detailed Thompson’s character a bit more. “Valkyrie is trying to not embrace any sort of Asgardian heritage that she has. Thor thinks maybe that will create a bond between them and, on the contrary, she wants to forget it all entirely.”
So, do you think Thor might just fall for Valkyrie? The hero has history with the heroine in the comics, but the Asgardian may be too busy smarting over Loki or pining over Jane. Hit is up on Twitter @ComicBook to let us know what you think!
