Information seems to be coming in at a steady pace regarding James Mangold's Wolverine 3, which has now been officially titled Logan.

In addition to the first reveal of the title and the poster, more information has been unearthed regarding the film's plot (via The Wrap), and if you don't want to have it spoiled for you, feel free to turn back now.

The newest poster for the film shows Logan holding the hand of a child, which many theorized to be X-23. According to a source close to the film, the child isn't named specifically X-23 or Laura Kinney (as she is in the books), but they did say that she is indeed a mutant and that she "has two claws instead of three."

While it isn't evident in the film's title, the final sequel will be based around Old Man Logan, and takes place in the year 2024. The tone of this film will be much darker than any other film in the franchise, and this will also be a much different Wolverine than fans are accustomed to.

Logan's powers aren't as reliable as they once were, and at times they don't work at all. His body is fighting an undisclosed sickness, and the absurd amount of liquor he consumes doesn't seem to be helping matters.

In this new day and age, mutant births are happening very rarely, but the reason isn't disclosed. There is also a government organization called 'Transigen" that is taking some of these young mutants and turning them into lethal soldiers, a program that the young girl who Logan takes in was previously a part of. It's also mentioned that Logan gets around in a 2024 Chrysler 300 limo that has been customized.

Other noteworthy tidbits regard Professor Xavier, who's powers are described as unstable. In addition to his power failures, his mind and memory are also fading, as at times he doesn't remember who Logan is. Xavier is cared for by Logan and Caliban, who is played by Stephen Merchant. This lines up with previous photos from the set that show an old and rough looking Wolverine with a seemingly confused Xavier.

The film is certainly going all in for Hugh Jackman's final time in the popular role, but time will tell if the various pieces can come together cohesively in the final product.

Logan is set to enter theaters March 3, 2017.
