In perhaps one of her greatest moments ever, Ronda Rousey kept her promise and attended the Marine Corps Ball last night. Less than a month after being knocked out by Holly Holm and losing her UFC title, no one would have blamed Rousey if she had bowed out as being unable to attend, because she was still recovering from her injuries.

In fact, there was much speculation online that Rousey wouldn’t be attending. But true to her word, Rousey flew out in the very early morning hours on Friday to keep her date for the Marine Corps Ball. In an interview with TMZ, Rousey said, “I promised I would go. It’s an honor to be asked. And honestly, I would probably stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for another month if he didn’t ask me to go outside the house, so it’s probably a good thing.”

Despite not getting much sleep to make it to the event, Rousey was also all smiles in a number of photos that have surfaced from the Marine Corps Ball on social media.

Rousey was recently turned into a superhero by Marvel, and she has been cast to star in an upcoming remake of the Roadhouse movie.
