The actor plays Dr. Smolder Bravestone in the anticipated sequel, and the special effects team built him a custom flamethrower that can be worn on his arm. The unit was designed specifically for an upcoming scene, and while admittedly a cool thing to have does, unfortunately, have a few drawbacks.
“๐ฅ๐ฅOur bad ass #Jumanji FX team custom built my flamethrower so it attaches to my arm for tonight’s big action sequences. I steer my motorcycle with one hand and become the King of Fire with the other. Already singed the hair off my arm, so we’re off to a great start ๐๐๐พ
Gonna be a fun night. #LetMeLightYouUp #AllNightLong”
Fellow actor Kevin Hart didn’t seem to be anywhere near the set during this segment, possibly because he’s frightened of getting pranked. The Rock has been known to have some fun at Hart’s expense, most likely in retaliation for having to carry Hart around on a rigged up chair during an earlier scene. To be fair, it wasn’t like the situation was amazing for Hart either.
Jumanji is the sequel to the beloved Robin Williams starring classic from 1995, and features the talents of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Dr. Smolder Bravestone), Kevin Hart (Moose Finbar), Karen Gillan (Ruby Roundhouse), Jack Black (Professor Shelly Oberon), Nick Jonas, Ser Darius Blain (Anthony “Fridge” Johnson), Madison Iseman, Rhys Darby, and Morgan Turner. The film is being directed by Jake Kasdan and is based on a script by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.
Jumanji hits theaters on July 28, 2017.
