Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially cancelled the Mac and Linux ports of Batman: Arkham Knight.

The announcement was made in a short on the game's Steam forum:

We are very sorry to confirm that Batman: Arkham Knight will no longer be coming to Mac and Linux. If you have pre-ordered Batman: Arkham Knight for Mac or Linux, please apply for a refund via Steam.

While Arkham Knight was generally well received by fans and critics, the PC port of the game has been plagued by issues since launch, prompting Warner Bros. to pull it from Steam shortly after launch. It was re-released in October, but has continued receiving patches to fix lingering performance issues through at least December.

We can't say for certain whether the problematic PC launched is what led to the Mac and Linux cancellation, but it seems likely. Arkham Knight is just one example of more widespread problem with broken PC ports of console games.
