Michael McKean, who played Perry White in Smallville and has had roles in ThunderCats and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, has been cast in AMC’s upcoming Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul.The actor, who has also appeared on Justice League, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and The X-Files, will play a new character, Dr. Thurber, a brilliant attorney who is now restricted by an unusual affliction, reports Deadline.McKean is arguably best known for his comedy work; in the 1980s, he appeared as Lenny Kosnowski on Laverne & Shirley and has spent the better part of the last thirty years in films written and/or directed by Christopher Guest, including This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind. McKean has also frequently worked with Guest on developing and composing the music for his films.
