After being long-rumored for the job, Joe Carnahan tweeted a piece of concept art from the upcoming threequel, all but confirming he’ll sitting in the director’s chair for the next adventure of Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett. This will be the first Bad Boys film to be directed by anyone other than Michael Bay. The franchise turns 21 this year.

Who is that man? He’s probably Will Smith, seeing as the actor recently confirmed he and Martin Lawrence would definitely be returning for the film’s next installment.
Carnahan’s previous directing work includes Smokin’ Aces, The Grey, and The A-Team. Bad Boys III is scheduled to hit theaters on February 17, 2017.
