Marvel Entertainment will be present at the 5th TEDxTeen conference on March 1, 2014. The event is being held at Scholastic's unique auditorium in New York City, where Marvel's Sana Amanat, editor of Ms. Marvel, Elektra, Captain Marvel and New Warriors, will present "Myths, Misfits, and Masks." "Myths, Misfits and Masks," is a presentation about how social norms and stereotypes can effect how people –especially young people -  see and value themselves as an individual. Amanat will look at this issue through the lens of storytelling, particularly comic book storytelling, highlighting Marvel's long history of celebrating and empowering characters who are "different," like Spider-Man, the X-Men and, most recently, the new Ms. Marvel. Following Amanat's presentation, Marvel will be offering an exclusive, free digital comics collection, All-New Marvel NOW! Teen Heroes! The collection highlights the new lineup of teen heroes making their mark in the Marvel Universe in the pages of All-New Marvel NOW! titles. Fans can watch the presentation online and get an official promo code, then go to marvel.com/tedx and use the code to purchase the collection for free. The collection will become available in the Marvel Comics App. TEDxTeen will be live-streamed March 1st. The event is live from 10:30am-5:45pm (EST) on TEDxTeen.com and through their official livestream partners MTV Act (act.mtv.com) and MTV Voices (mtvvoices.com).
