An impromptu Pokemon Go party got a little out of hand last night in Montreal, forcing the police to intervene. The Montreal Gazette reported that the Montreal Police were forced to break up a crowd of Pokemon Go players due to noise complaints and reports of players standing in the middle of the road.

The crowd had gathered at Cabot Square, reportedly to catch a Dragonite lingering in the area. The police arrived at 11:30 PM and eventually shut the park down after it became clear the Pokemon Go players couldn't be kept in hand. The Montreal Gazette also posted a video of the scene at Cabot Square, showing the (admittedly calm) crowd before the police broke them up.

"If there's a commotion or loud groups in the street, disturbing the peace, we will be active," said Andre Leclerc, spokesperson for the Montreal police department. "If it repeats, we're going to intervene again."

Pokemon Go was released on Sunday in Canada, although most players weren't able to play the game until Monday due to a widespread server outage. Police departments are learning to cope with the new game. Some departments are using Pokemon Go to engage with the community, while others have used the game to catch criminals.
