"The Hunger Games" dominated for the second straight weekend at the box office, taking in an estimated $61.1 million. The total easily bested 2nd place "Wrath of the Titans," which debuted to $34.2 million. For "The Hunger Games" it marks some pretty impressive numbers. According to Box Office Mojo, the 10 day North American total of $251 million makes the film the 5th fastest film ever to $250 million. It also makes the film the 5th highest grossing film in the first 10 days of release. Pretty impressive numbers, especially considering "The Hunger Games" isn't a sequel. "Wrath of the Titans" total of $34.2 million was far short of it's predecessor's opening (Clash of the Titans) of $61 million. The film stars Sam Worthington reprising his role as Perseus. We'll see tomorrow how well the movie fared overseas ("Clash" did better internationally, so the thinking is so will "Wrath"). "Mirror Mirror" ($19 million), "21 Jump Street" ($15 million) and "The Lorax" ($8 million) rounded out the top five. "The Hunger Games" could definitely take a big hit next weekend with the debut of "American Reunion," a film that reunites the cast of the box office smash "American Pie."
