While the film isn’t exactly in develop just yet, Jay Roach, the director of the original Austin Powers trilogy, is on board for another installment at any time.

“You know, [Mike Myers and I] talk about it every time we get together,” Roach says of the fourth Austin Powers film in an interview with Larry King. “I would say it’s in a latent phase right now but someday if we find the right idea that seems to have it earn itself, for sure. Mike gave me the break of a lifetime in letting me direct [Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery] so I’m always good to go.”

The director is on board. That’s big. Then, you just have to get Myers to come around and you have just about your entire cast with Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, Fat Bastard, and Goldmember.

As for ideas on where the film could go, Roach and Myers haven’t nailed on down in particular.

“We’ve had a whole bunch,” Roach says of possible ideas for the fourth. “It’s been many years of kicking around but there hasn’t been one that’s stuck yet.”

Austin Powers in Goldmember left off with Scott Evil taking over his father’s evil corporation and losing all of his hair. Audiences have been waiting patiently to see Austin and Dougie (Dr. Evil) team up to take Dougie’s son and Austin’s nephew. But, he’s just the Diet Coke of evil.

Would you like to see a fourth Austin Powers movie make its way to theaters?
