A new behind-the-scenes featurette for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was released Wednesday, featuring tons of new footage not scene in the previous trailers. The footage includes more shots of the strangely powered children, including the invisible boy, the frankly terrifyingly creepy twins, and more. There are also comments from stars of the film, along with the novel author Ransom Riggs and director Tim Burton.

“When I heard that Tim Burton was going to direct the film, I was like, ‘what? This is insane!’” Riggs said enthusiastically. The actors were equally enthusiastic. Asa Butterfield said, “Everything comes together as a Tim Burton film,” and Samuel L. Jackson said Burton’s own enthusiasm “on set is infectious.” Terrence Stamp added that “great directors have a vision, and that’s what actors love!”

Burton calls the world that Riggs created “poetic and beautiful” in the featurette, and praises his creativity in making a story out of old photographs (the secret origins of the book’s story). Actress Eva Green, who stars as the titular Miss Peregrine, loves that the story “embraces uniqueness.”
