Game of Thrones season 7 is eagerly anticipated by viewers, as the big war for Westeros finally nears its bloody start. However, since season 7 will start later than the usual spring premiere slot (coming in summer 2017 instead), the upcoming Blu-ray release of Game of Thrones season 6 will have to tide fans over with fan extras like behind-the-scenes featurettes and deleted scenes.

The latter is what we have for you today: a Game of Thrones deleted scene newly revealed by EW shows The Queen of Thorns (aka Olenna Tyrell, played by Dame Diana Rigg) doing some plotting in her usual forked-tongue manner.

Check it out:

The scene features Lady Olenna confronting Lord Mace Tyrell (Roger Ashton-Griffiths) about his thick-headedness, letting Cersei Lannister maneuver him to the Iron Bank of Bravos, leaving his children Loras and Margaery to Cersei's so-called mercy.

The scene also concretely establishes that Lady Olenna heeded Margaery's warning and is fleeing from King's Landing before Cersei gets to her, too. However, as we see in the scene, the Queen of Thorns has no intention of simply running scared and hiding: she wanted Cersei and the Sparrows to wipe one another out. She probably won't be pleased when she learned how that little conflict resolved itself.

Game of Thrones returns for season 7 in summer 2017.
