Series lead J.D. Pardo is in the middle of the shot, looking as the mediator between some of his Mayans MC brethren. Pardo is playing Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, a young prospective member of the club.
Sutter captioned the photo “Day 5. Mayans MC pilot. #mayansmc #samcromythology #chapter2.”
That caption presumably alludes to the series connecting back to SoA’s SAMCRO club. As for how Sutter plans to do that, he hasn’t said. However, he’s alluded to how he’ll meld these two shows together in the past.
“I’ll direct the pilot and my plan is to do this. It’s to honor the mythology that a lot of talented people spent seven years creating so that we transition from that mythology into this new mythology,” Sutter said in December. “And my hope is to hire a creative staff that’s based in that culture.”
UP NEXT: Charlie Hunnam Reveals Alternate Ending For Sons Of Anarchy
This is far from the first update Sutter has shared from the set.
Last week, we saw a glimpse of one of the Mayans’ bikes on the third day of filming. On Sunday, he also shared a glimpse at a scrap yard set to appear on the show.
When you live on the fringe, you learn how to build empires out of scraps. #mayansmc

In other Sons of Anarchy news, Charlie Hunnam revealed the original series’ alternate ending. On the Mayans MC front, Emilio Rivera opened up about his involvement in the production.
