In recent years, LEGO has surged in popularity as the toy company's films have scored well with audiences of all ages. But, at this year's San Diego Comic Con, one fan decided to take LEGO's iconic mini figs and turn them into the stuff of nightmares. Seriously, Frank Ippolito's cosplay might be one of the most oddly fascinating things you'll see all week.

Part of Adam Savage's Tested, Ippolito is a visual FX artist who specializes in make-up, prosthetics, and sculpting. So, when it came for him to create a new cosplay, Ippolito let his long-time love of LEGOs inspire him. The artist created a life-size cosplay of a humanoid LEGO mini fig which features hyperrealistic skin, body hair, wrinkles, and even flattened ears. Co-host Norm Chan shot a video with Ippolito to show-off the artist's work, and even Chan admits the piece is "incredible" and "creepy." Really, it's no surprise then the pair called the cosplay, 'Creepy Fig.'

The cosplay's focal point is, of course, its head. The 14-pound piece is made of silicone and comes complete with large, beady black eyes. I mean, those eyes appear as if they've looked into the abyss or have swapped themselves out for a pair of black holes. Yet, somehow, the most disconcerting part of the mask is its mouth. The soulless smile curves just loosely enough to make even the most brave comic-con attendees cringe.

Ippolito also created two arm pieces for the cosplay which slide onto his arms like gloves. The silicone pieces use the same skin as the mask does and features the mini figs' 'rounded hands.' As such, viewers can see that the gloves have two massive fingers which are curved inwards, and horrifically, Ippolito added finger nails for a finishing touch.

This is not the first cosplay Ippolito has gained viral fame for. Back in 2014, the artist created an impressive Zoidberg (Futurama) cosplay which included mechanical face tentacles. Honestly, you should really go check it out but be warned: You might be having some interesting nightmares should you dare check it out!
