It’s been a mix of emotions tonight, with Star Wars fans everywhere on high alert as news that Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack aboard a plane bound from London to LAX.
The Star Wars icon was rushed to the hospital, and in an update from the Associated Press, it was reported that Todd Fisher, the actress’s brother, said that she was, “out of emergency.” After some additional statements, the headline was that Carrie Fisher was in “stable” condition at the hospital; however, we now know that is sadly not the case.

Variety has a quote from Todd Fisher stating that “She’s in the ICU and everybody’s praying for her… There’s no good or bad news.”
In addition, to that, ET Canada has a quote from Fisher, in which he states, “She is in the intensive care unit, she is being well looked after. If everyone could just pray for her that would be good. The doctors are doing their thing and we don’t want to bug them. We are waiting by patiently.”
In both reports, Fisher went on to state that any reports to the contrary (like the AP story) have been mistaken and/or premature, telling ET Canada “We hope for the best. We certainly do not know her condition, that’s why she is in ICU. I’m sure everyone wants to speculate but now is not the time for that.”
While Star Wars fans and so many others are raw with worry and emotion right now, few would disagree that it’s probably best to heed the words of those closest to Carrie Fisher at this time.
We’ll all continue to send our thoughts and prayers her way.
