While Chewbacca Mom Candace Payne was on the set of The Late Late Show with James Corden, she had a one of a kind experience when meeting Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens Director JJ Abrams.
She's admittedly a huge fan of the Director, but I imagine she never thought she'd be in a skit with him laughing hysterically in matching Chewbacca masks if she ever actually met him. Still, even that didn't prepare her for what happened next.
When she joined Corden on the show, the host surprised her by saying: "Well something else may mean something to you because in the time since you've been here we've got a message for you, and email from Peter Mayhew, who is Chewbacca in all the movies." He proceeded to read it on air.
"It says, Candace, you are an inspiration. Your attitude and lovely message really resonates and with spreading the good word of Star Wars with a heart, well, it's so much of why we do what we do. I'd love to get to meet you and your family in person. In two weeks we have the Dallas Fan Expo in your hometown and my hometown. I have acquired four VIP passes for you and your family to come to the show. I've also set up a private meet and greet so we can catch up while you're there. All my love, Peter."
It's been a whirlwind week for the stay at home Mom, and now she gets to meet the real Chewbacca in person. Buying that mask is looking to be the best impulse buy ever.
