The full press tour for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has launched, with cast and crew doing the rounds to chat up the first ever standalone movie in the Star Wars galaxy. Actress Felicity Jones, who plays the lead character Jyn Erso, made an appearance on Good Morning America (corporate synergy!) and talked a bit about her character.

However, she also talked classic Star Wars, specifically when she was asked about her personal Star Wars dream team by Jesse Palmer, who as it turns out is a major geek for the franchise. He asked her to build her personal Rebel army from three characters throughout the history of Star Wars.
“Okay, good question. Well, come on, it’s gotta be Chewbacca. And then I would say Han Solo,” she said clutching her chest, “he’s very precious. And then, why not, Rey! She’s gotta be part of the team as well!”
Logistically, it’s a pretty solid team. You have Rey there for the Jedi presence, Han and Chewie as a proven support team who can get out of scrapes themselves. If Jyn is also part of the team, she’d probably be serving as de facto leader, as much as Han and Rey may object to being told what to do.
It’s a treat for fans to see people like Jones having a very fan-like conversation; this is the kind of talk fans have on a regular basis. Props to Jones for being able to pull three off the top of her head that way, as many fans would probably have to debate such an important decision for several minutes, if not hours.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits US theaters December 16, 2016. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it’s the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core “Skywalker Saga” of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue Onetells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: “Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”
