The path to the finale of Britain’s Got Talent for the dancing Stormtroopers, known as Boogie Storm, included Simon Cowell sending them straight to the semi-finals with a push of the Golden Buzzer and then squeaking by 14-year-old ballet dancer, Jack Higgins, in the semi-finals with a public vote.
On Saturday’s finale, Boogie Storm went for the top prize by pulling out all the stops with another amazing routine, performing a dance medley to “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls, “Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO, “Spice Up Your Life” by the Spice Girls, “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross, “Vogue” by Madonna, and “Sorry” by Justin Bieber.

Boogie Storm concluded the performance with “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, recreating the iconic lift Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze performed in 1987’s Dirty Dancing.
Here’s what the judges had to say (via unrealitytv.co.uk):
- David Walliams: “The thing is, I can see why Simon likes you so much. He’s like a camp Darth Vader, and you’re camp stormtroopers.”
- Alesha Dixon: “Every time I see you, I like you more and more. The Dirty Dancing part was brilliant.”
- Amanda Holden: “I think most of all, when we have seen you in the past, we have seen you as these evil, butch creatures. We saw your softer side tonight. We didn’t realise this existed with you guys.”
- Simon Cowell: “This is one of my favourite acts I have ever seen on this show. You know why? Because it’s original. I think it’s important that the public gets behind you because we embrace people from different galaxies.”
Sadly, Boogie Storm only mustered a third-place finish. Magician Richard Jones was the winner, and singer Wayne Woodward was the runner-up.
