The Walking Dead‘s seventh season was made up of 16 episodes, many of which ran for longer than the standard one hour time slot on AMC. Still, there are several deleted, alternate, and extended scenes which did not make the broadcast cuts of the series.
Luckily for fans hungry for more of The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: The Complete Seventh Season blu-ray set comes complete with eight of those scenes.

While Jeffrey Dean Morgan and the rest of the cast filmed several takes in episodes throughout the season in which they let foul language, including the F-word fly, the alternate and deleted scenes section of the blu-ray set does not include these moments. For a comic book accurate, F-word laced Negan, fans of the AMC series and Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels will have to head to the Season 6 blu-ray to see the season’s finale carried out with 23 uses of the F-word.
Season 7’s deleted scenes do offer intense emotional moments and subtle character developments which have never been seen before. Below, we run through a recap of each deleted scene available on The Walking Dead‘s Season 7 blu-ray set…
7×01 – The Dream
The first deleted scene is one continuous shot, eliminated from Rick’s dream sequence in Episode 7×01 (The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be).
Rosita lights torches around Alexandira, she is dressed nicely.
Behind her, Abraham sits on a bench with Sasha. In front of them, Glenn sits on a picnic type blanket with his little boy. Getting closer, we see him playing with his son, panning to Sashaย laughing with Abe as Carol walks by with a tray of cookies. As Carol exits, Michonne emerges, in a white and beigeย dress, equipped with two unopened beers. She smiles to Glenn.
In the street behindย her, a remote control car zips through the street. Glenn and his boy run to play with it. Eugene enters the frame from the right side, dressed in a button down and cargo shorts, revealing himself to be in control of the car, just as Aaron emerges, dressed cleanly and professionalyย carrying firewood.
As Aaron sets the wood down, Maggie walks up the street and meets Glenn and their kid. They play for a moment before sharing a kiss.ย
Daryl steps to the firewood with Aaron as the table is being set.
Fade to the dinner table scene which sees all of Alexandria, including Sasha, Abraham, Glenn, Maggie, Spencer, Tara, Michonne, Daryl, Morgan others. The camera reaches the end of the table — Glenn and Abraham nod to one another.
7×05 – Carl & Enid
In the first scene, Carl’s car has just crashed. Enid compliments Carl’s driving abilities, sarcastically.
He orders her to get into the car. He’ll take her to the Hilltop. She questions whether he came out only to find her. He tells her this is not the case, prompting her to get in. END.
NEXT: Carl wakes up in the back of a car to Enid sighing and grunting. She slams the hood of the car and apologizes for waking him. She was trying to start the car but it’s dead and she can’t figure out why. They take their belongings — for her, a backpack, for him, his hat — and head on their way.

7×10 – Faith
The Scavengers round up some supplies and walk to the center of their heap. Gabriel and Rick lean against a car and start a conversation.
Gabriel explains that he was jumped in the pantry after investigating some noises. An invader was angry about not getting enough supplies, so they took him with them. During the kidnapping, he overheard something about the group being at the boat, so he wrote the note seen earlier in the series in his Bible and “hoped.”
“You didn’t just hope,” Rick said. “You got us here.”
Gabriel admits he was beginning to lose faith when he saw how many of these people there were and knew people would believe he skipped out of Alexandria. He is scared by almost losing his faith so quickly, however, he saw Rick and Rick nodded at him. “Just the fact that you knew I didn’t leave, that you searched and found me…” Gabriel said. “Maybe I was supposed to lose my faith and see how youย held on to yours to know the way forward. We will set things right but things are going to get very hard before that time. We have to hold on. I will. Thank you.”
Now, he questions hy Rick smiled when discovering the Scavengers.
“Someone showed me: enemies can become friends,” Rick said, putting his hand on Gabriel’s shoulder before looking to Michonne who smirks back at him.ย
7×10 – Tiger Talk
Daryl sits by the tiger cage in the Kingdom, staring into Shiva’s eyes.ย
“You’re good with her,” Morgan says from off-screen. “Ezekiel will be impressed.”
“I figure any guy that has a pet tiger can’t be that bad,” Daryl said. “And he’s okay by Carol.”
Morgan defends himself for telling Daryl that she “just went away.” Daryl claims to understand but quickly turns to telling Morgan, “We need the Kingdom.” It’s not what Morgan believes though.
“I know what I want this world to be. What I want us to be,” Morgan said.
Daryl turns to Richard’s desire. Richard told him to talk to Ezekiel but he chooses to talk to Morgan because he can. “Make it happen! Now, before it’s too late!” Daryl said. “You killed someone to save Carol.”
“Because I had to!” Morgan cuts him off.
“You can’t see it, but this is the same damn thing,” Daryl tells him.
Morgan is struggling. “Sorry, I really am, but it can’t be me,” he said.
Daryl stands to talk more. “Whatever it is you’re holding on to, it’s already gone, man,” Daryl tells him. “Wake the hell up.”
Morgan tells Daryl they are the same. Daryl doesn’t want to agree but Morgan says, “You didn’t tell Carol what happened. You didn’t, cause she’d be here otherwise. And I’m glad for that. See, we’re all holding on to something.”
Daryl reaches in the cage and pets the tiger before declaring he is going back to Hilltop in the morning to get ready. The next day, Morgan and Richard watch him leave, separately.ย
7×13 – Secrets
Benjamin marches through a hallway of a former dorm at the Kingdom. He knocks on a door, several times, and just as he is about to leave, Richard tells him to come in.
Benjamin opens the door to find Richard looking out the window, claiming allergies are the reason he looks and sounds upset. The group is heading out in three minutes, according to Benjamin. Benjamin exits, leaving Richard alone in his room.
Richard sits down and begins to write a note…
“I wish you would have listened,” the first note said but he crumples it up and throws it away.
“I’m sorry. I wanted…” the next failed note started before he finallyย realizes what he wants to write.
“Stop them while you can. Use the grave for me,” he writes before tearing the note from the pad, folding it, and leaving it on the desk. He eyes water as he knows what’s coming, standing up to head out for a meeting with the Saviors, taking one last look at his room and maps on the wall on his way out.ย
7×14 – Shady Bargaining
The Saviors escort Doctor Carson to their caravan as the Hilltop looks on. Just as Simon was getting in his truck, he calls out for Gregory.
“You drive a hard bargain!” he tells him before ordering his man Roy to drop some supplies and leave them behind. “Drive out to the road and do some dead clearing for these good people!”
“Full perimeter service, clean up included, as I agreed to,” he tells Gregory. “Negan wants Dr. Carson to help his brother for a while but he might be back any day now. We talked and hashed and made it work. The Savior swill make it worth the Hilltop’s while.”
Gregory is gratefulย He begins waving his arms around and suggests next time the Saviors bring some medical supplies since they’re taking the community’s doctor, to “balance the scales” a bit more.
Simon says, “Maybe,” and gets closer to Gregory. They’re standing in the center of the community with everyone watching. Simon tells him these things don’t always go so well for other communities. Simon sniffs a big breathe of air and walks away, “Until next time!”
Gregory orders the gates to be opened. As the Saviors exit, Simon glares at Gregory. Gregory looks away, finding Jesus, who does not approve of the unexpected change in Simon’s behavior, having an understanding of Gregory’s cowardice and shady dealing to keep the supplies.ย
7×16 – Winning Time
ย
Rick and Carl are together in the house. Carl is sitting, cleaning and preparing guns. Rick is strapping his belt on and examining his python.
Carl says, “It’s weird not having her here.”
“She’s safe. She’s with family,” Rick said. He is leaving for the “heaps” soon.ย
“You know what to do if they show up,” Rick said.
“Give them what they want, one last time,” Carl said.ย
Rick puts his hand on Carl’s head and looks down to him. “I love you, Carl,” he said.
“Would you have done it?” Carl asks. “Cut off my arm?”
“I don’t know,” Rick said.ย Michonneย enters the room.
“Could you do it now? Cause it could happen again,” Carl said. Michonneย cuts him off. “It could happen again,” he insists.
“No, not again,” Michonneย said.ย “And I don’t want you talking about it. I don’t want you to think about it. We weren’t ready for them then, we are now. There’s nothing left but beating them. Winning this. Making them regret they ever crossed us just before they die. Don’t fantasize about failing. Put everything into winning and we’ll make it real.”
Michonneย kisses Carl on the forehead and turns to Rick. “So, let’s go get our army,” she said.
