When The Walking Dead returns for its eighth season, it will do so with a stark contrast to its preceding season.

According to Simon actor Steven Ogg, who has been bumped up to series regular for the upcoming season, “s— goes down” in Season Eight. The new season, which launches the highly anticipated “All Out War” storyline, will finally see Rick and his surrounding communities rallying to take on Negan. It’s not necessarily good news for Ogg’s character and his pals, but it is good news for the fans!

“S— goes down,” Ogg said. “[The show] changes. Seven laid out a lot of territory, a lot of people were introduced, and eight? Really, the all out war, it’s time. It’s time to thin the herd, to start to get shit done. I think the end of seven is a good introduction, and I think that we switch gears. I think eight is a much, much different place. A lot is happening and it’s a different pace, it’s a different energy, and really I think pee pee pants city is just that, it’s mild compared to season eight. We’re no longer just peeing our pants, we’re on to heavier matter.”

For those fans concerned about war meaning death, Ogg confirmed there is plenty to worry about in that regard. “Yeah, I mean s—, it’s like whenever people say, ‘Are you going to die? Or do you know yet?’” Ogg said. “Yeah, everyone’s going to die at some point, right? They all die. Yeah, let’s thin the herd, man, let’s thin the herd.”

Ogg’s role in The Walking Dead can be caught in The Walking Dead: The Complete Seventh Season which is available on Blu-ray now.
