The Walking Dead returns for the second half of its seventh season tonight, and fans are excited to finally see all of the characters come together once again.
They're also excited because it's been teased that this new episode will also bring together some powerful characters that have never met before.
Rick and Ezekiel anyone?
The previews leading up to this point have shown the two leaders talking with each other, face-to-face, and it's expected that will happen in this episode. However, it's worth noting that those trailers were for the whole season, and all of that footage won't be seen in the next episode.
So, will Ezekiel and Shiva be featured in this episode after all?
Most likely, yes.
When you think about the pacing of the story to this point, Rick is going to need to begin assembling his army if he's going to go to war with Negan anytime soon. He at least needs to begin planting those seeds.
If he doesn't meet Ezekiel for another episode or two, what couple possibly happen in this premiere? A whole hour of Rick and the gang travelling between locations?
Not likely.
The producers and actors have teased that the new episodes will be much faster paced, and much more exciting, than the first half of the season. That means things will get kicked into high gear, and Rick will meet all of the players necessary to take out Negan.
Rick and Ezekiel will have their moment in this episode. And it will be glorious.
