Over at his personal Instagram, The Walking Dead effects guru Greg Nicotero has shared an image of a "tribute walker" who narrowly missed his time in the spotlight this season -- with a wink and a nod to the best-known zombie movie of all time.
Below, you can see a photo of a walker made up to look like Johnny from George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Apparently, the plan was for him to show up in Season Six's sixth episode, but it didn't happen. Here, Nicotero has shared the image in black-and-white, and noted that if he'd used the character in the premiere, it could have actually been in black-and-white on TV.
The tribute Walker that hit the cutting room floor from episode 6 of this last season...Johnny from the one and only Night of the Living Dead! After the fact I realized I should have used him in the premiere and he would have been in black and white. Damn!! @amcthewalkingdead #tribute #twd
