In a shocking turn of events, Robert Downey Jr. tells Yahoo that he thinks Captain America 3 is going to be kind of a big deal.

"It's going to be huge," Downey says, without commenting or revealing any further details.

Captain America 3 will be the next film, following Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which Downey suits up as Iron Man. The film will begin Marvel's attempt to adapt the Civil War storyline that ran in Marvel Comics in 2006-07 to the Marvel Studios line of films. The storyline splits the superhero community in two over the Superhero Registration Act, an act that forces superheroes to reveal their secret identities and register with the government as employees. Iron Man staunchly supports the Act, while Captain America sees it as a breach of heroes' civil liberties.

Perhaps more interesting is how Downey responds to comments made by his Iron Man co-star, Jeff Bridges, about what it was like doing the first entry in Mavel's cinematic universe. Bridges compared it to making a massive student film, but Iron Man was the only MCU film in which Bridges appeared. Having stuck around for the long game seems to have colored Downey's memory a little differently.

"At the time we were just trying to launch something that didn't have that great a shot of being a hit," Downey says, "and now, looking back, and the way things have happened with Marvel, it was just the beginning of this big business plan."

Captain America 3 is set for release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
