Doctor Strange Release Date Officially Announced As November 4, 2016

During a live event at Disney's El Capitan Theater in Hollywood today, Marvel Studios officially announced the Doctor Strange movie as part of their Phase Three movie plans. Of course, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige as well as Marvel legend Stan Lee has previously indicated that a Doctor Strange movie was in the works, so the announcement hardly came as a big surprise.

Doctor Strange was created for Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Doctor Strange first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in July of 1963. In the comic books, Doctor Strange is a former neurosurgeon, who becomes Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats.

In making the announcement, Marvel Studios also revealed that the Doctor Strange movie would be released on November 4, 2016.

Doctor Strange is being directed by Scott Derrickson from a script by Jon Spaihts.
