Actor Liam Neeson says he'd be game for reprising his role as Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn in a future Star Wars installment but has a few concerns with the cross blade lightsaber that was featured in The Force Awakens teaser trailer.

While promoting his latest film, Taken 3, Neeson chatted with Yahoo Movies on the possibility of returning to the Star Wars universe.

"I certainly loved shooting the prequel ['Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace'] but that was many years ago now," he said.

Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn died at the hands of Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace.

"I don't know [how he would return], unless you went back in time or he becomes a hologram or something," Neeson said. "He's a Jedi, anything could happen, it's Star Wars world!"

Neeson says he's watched the teaser trailer but was a bit worried about the cross blade lightsaber that's wielded by the mysterious Kylo Ren.

"I had a couple of worries about that lightsaber. I thought if it comes in [towards the body] and is close to you, it's like having a jet of [burning] fluid hitting your clothes and your skin, but I'm sure they've thought that out."

Neeson's latest film, Taken 3, lands in theaters January 9.
