Yesterday, Patrick Stewart caught everyone off guard when he revealed that his X-Men character Professor Charles Xavier may appear in the next Wolverine solo film. "And what I'm very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together." Stewart told Oregon Live. "Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of "X-Men" from the four movies that I've already done."

Earlier today, Hugh Jackman was asked about that possibility while doing press for Chappie. "I'm not going to deny it," Jackman told JoBlo. "I've learned over the years to try and put my best poker face on. By the way, play poker with me if you want to win some money, because I'm terrible. But, I've always seen it as a really important relationship, and we started with that and I think it's a really important one. I think it would be really great to see it in the Wolverine movie, because we haven't really explored it in the standalone Wolverine movies. So it's not not not not not going to happen."

It is a shame that Stewart's Professor X will not be included in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse, however, knowing that he might be paired up with Jackman in the next Wolverine film is something to look forward to. 20th Century Fox has slated the next Wolverine film to arrive in theaters on March 3rd, 2017.
