Wonder Woman Lands Former Thor 2 Director Patty Jenkins

Wow, it has only taken Warner Bros. a few days to find a new director to replace Michelle MacLaren on Wonder Woman.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Patty Jenkins has been hired by Warner Bros. to direct the first solo film for the Warrior Princess of the Amazons, which will star Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice).

Jenkins was hired by Marvel Studios to direct the sequel to Thor. She left the project months later because of "creative differences," which is the same Hollywood excuse for MacLaren's departure. Jenkins is best known for directing 2003's Monster, which earned Charlize Theron the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Guess Angelina Jolie won't be directing Wonder Woman. That may be the fastest rumor to be debunked. Fingers crossed on Captain Marvel!

Wonder Woman is expected to begin filming this fall and arrive in theaters June 23, 2017.
