Constantine's Matt Ryan Thanks Fans For Their Support

As the curtains officially close on NBC's Constantine, the old mage himself is bowing out of the series gracefully.

Matt Ryan, who played John Constantine on the DC Entertainment series, thanked his fans on Twitter earlier this week for their support throughout Constantine's troubled run. Constantine, which premiered in October last year, constantly ran from the specter of cancellation since November 2014 when NBC revealed that they wouldn't give the show a full series order into Spring 2015. While NBC didn't outright cancel the show, many feared that the network would not renew it for a second season.

With the fate of their show in the air, Constantine fans launched a massive social media campaign anchored by the hashtag #SaveConstantine, and formed an online petition. Sadly, it still was not enough convince NBC to continue Constantine for a second season. And though NBC wouldn't conjur any more magic, some hoped that another network--like The CW--would pick the show up. Unfortantely, that did not pan out either, as Constantine showrunner Daniel Cerone confirmed this week that Constantine would not live on at another network. As fans mourned the show's final fate, Ryan tried consoling them with a hearfelt message, which you can read below.
