Marvel President Kevin Feige spoke with the website birthmoviesdeath during a press event for Ant-Man and they asked him several question pertaining to Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange.

Times have changed. Hell's Kitchen is no longer hellacious, but Netflix's Daredevil used the attack on New York, seen in The Avengers (2012), to get around that issue. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) on the other hand, has lived on the outskirts of Greenwich Village, which has transformed from bohemian to chic. Where will he make his home in the film? "The Sanctum is on Bleecker Street, the modern day Bleecker Street," Feige said. "He will be the strangest thing walking out onto that street."

Not yet official, but Tilda Swinton remains the sole frontrunner for the role of Doctor Strange's mentor the Ancient One. Traditionally, the character has be depicted as an old Asian man, so Swinton would be a switch in gender and race. "As we were developing this film we looked at The Ancient One as a mantle more than a specific person," Feige explained. "The sorcerers have been around for millennia, protecting us from things we didn't know about until this story. There have been multiple [Ancient Ones], even if this one has been around for five hundred years, there were others. This is a mantle, and therefore felt we had leeway to cast in interesting ways."

In the comics, Doctor Strange comes upon the Ancient One in his homeland of Tibet, but Feige says that specific link won't be used. Though he did add, "Strange leaves New York in search of something and heads east."

This last quote contains an Ant-Man spoiler, so if you don't want to be spoiled look away.

How strange will Strange be? Look to the closing moments of Peyton Reed's Ant-Man to get a taste of what's to come. "We send Ant-Man on a very weird, mind-bending journey at the end of Ant-Man," Feige said. "It was something we hadn't seen in a shrinking movie before, but it also represents the tip of the mind-bending weirdness we're going to do in Strange, which I think will surprise people."

Dr. Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016. Want to know when Marvel's other movies are opening? Check out our Comic Book Movie Release Schedule here!
