El Mayimbe of Heroic Hollywood has been informed by his sources that Marvel has offered the female lead in Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange to Rachel McAdams.

McAdams, 36, is currently starring in season two of HBO's crime series True Detective. She is best known for her roles in The Notebook, Sherlock Holmes, The Time Traveler's Wife and Wedding Crashers.

No details were provided as to which character McAdams would be playing, but we would assume Clea is a strong possibility. She's a love interest to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), who eventually became his wife. She's the courageous daughter of Umar and the niece of Dormammu. She comes from the Dark Dimension and has aided Strange in many of his battles.

Dr. Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016. Want to know when Marvel's other movies are opening? Check out our Comic Book Movie Release Schedule here!
