Fans Petition Fox To Sell Fantastic Four Rights Back To Marvel Studios

Just when it seemed like fandom couldn’t slap Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot in the face any harder, they did.

After dismal box office returns and even lower critic and audience reviews, Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four is enduring a petition from fans, demanding that Fox return the Fantastic Four film rights back to Marvel Studios. Instead of hoping for Fox to redeem themselves with the already scheduled Fantastic Four 2 in 2017, the fans and their petition argue that the franchise should just quit while it’s behind.

Fox, which owns the film rights to Fantastic Four, could sell them back to Marvel Studios if they really wanted to, but it seems unlikely. In the wake of Fantastic Four’s failures, however, perhaps the studio will try to broker a partnership with Marvel, like Sony did with Spider-Man earlier this year.

Either way, this petition isn’t doing so hot itself. It only has 46 signatures so far, but there’s still plenty of time between now and when Fantastic Four 2’s production could begin.

Do you want Fox to sell the Fantastic Four rights back to Marvel Studios? Let us know!

Fantastic Four 2 is still slated for a June 2, 2017 release

If nothing else, sell the rights to Sony so they can work in Spiderman

Everybody needs to sign this. Mutant fans get the FF away from X-men and maybe Disney will throw in the live-action tv rights to the X-men also. While MCU fans get the cosmic villains the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy need. Everybody wins... not to mention FF fans who might actually get a good movie now...

  2. It's not going to happen. There was a petition to boycott the film's release, it still released and made money. Just deal with it.
