Jeremy Renner Would Love To Do Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. But Hasn't Been Invited

During his Wizard World Chicago panel today, Avengers: Age of Ultron star Jeremy Renner told fans that he'd love to appear on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D....but he hasn't been invited.

Indicating that he's game as long as they could shoot near his children (he lives in Los Angeles, which is where he was told the show films), Renner indicated that it's really not his decision, saying "I've said this before" before giving his answer and punctuating it with "So go yell at those guys."

Renner has said in interviews before that he would be happy to appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but none of the principal members of the Avengers have yet done so. Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Hayley Atwell and Jaimie Alexander have all come over from the movies to the TV series, though, with Atwell getting her own TV spinoff.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with new episodes starting Tuesday, September 29.

  1. Might be better suited for marvels most wanted... ? Personally I would love to see tim blake nelson reprise his role from the incredible hulk and tie up that loose plot thread by a subplot on agents of shield with The Leader. Would be a great series villian.

The sole reason they haven't done it yet is because for whatever reason Marvel still will not allow the Avengers to find out that Coulson is alive. Which is frustrating.

You mean, which is dumb. That in no way services either franchise. The only reason I can see for them doing that, is to keep both franchises seperate.  If the Avengers knew about SHIELD, then the fans would be demanding for either group to show up in either the films or the show, & logistically it's not possible, otherwise it would have happened already.

But I think it's rather hypocritical, that people vilify DC for keeping their franchises separate based on logistical reasons, when Marvel is basically doing the same thing. Marvel's TV stuff is only barely connected to the films in name, & a few flimsy plot lines only. Nothing that happens on TV affects the movies, while the TV shows bear the burden of playing clean up for the movies.

I say get Jeremy on the show! ASAP! The show shoots in L.A. and Big J simply needs to be invited on to appear...he'd be a truly welcome addition!
