Back in August, Mads Mikkelsen, who is currently shooting Star Wars: Rogue One, was rumored for a villain role in Doctor Strange, Marvel Studios' next new character to come to film in a solo movie. Well, according to an interview with MTime, Mikkelsen doesn't know anything new in the interim month.

"I know as much as the rest of the world. So far it's been rumors, so I'm waiting on a phone call," Mikkelsen said. "It would be fantastic to be a part of the Marvel family. I mean, it's something we all grew up with. We all have our heroes, and Doctor Strange is definitely one of the more interesting things."

He also said he'd be "over the moon" about the project. There were no hints about whether he'd actually read for a part, or what villain role it may be.

Doctor Strange is due to start filming in London, England in November 2015 for a November 4, 2016 release. The Scott Derrickson picture currently stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, Rachael McAdams, Tilda Swinton, and Chiwetel Ejiofor (as villain Baron Mordo).
