Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima revealed today that Nintendo will unveil details about its first ever smartphone game on Thursday.

Nintendo has been slow to enter the smartphone market, presumably because iPhone and Android devices have been viewed as unwelcome intruders into the portable gaming market, which Nintendo has dominated for decades. The disappointing performance of the company's latest in-home console, the Wii U, may have spurred Nintendo to look into other means of revenue.

Nintendo is partnering with mobile gaming giant DeNA to release 5 mobile games through 2017. The company is also releasing the Pokémon GO! AR app. We'll find out more details about what else the company has in store for the mobile market sometime tomorrow.
