Arrow: Is The Calculator Felicity's Father?

In the wake of today's news that Tom Amandes will play The Calculator on Arrow, fans immediately started to speculate that the villain -- who will have a two-episode arc starting in February -- could be the father of Felicity Smoak.

Well, it wouldn't be much of a surprise, would it?

First of all, fans are pretty good at piecing together Arrow's mysteries. They knew as soon as there was a relationship on the horizon that Donna Smoak and Captain Lance would end up together, after all, and yours truly wrote a whole article predicting last year's shocking midseason twist.

"We are going to bring her father in," said executive producer Wendy Mericle during a recent ComicBook.com interview. "He will definitely be evil. He's going to be up to no good, but it's not going to be Damien."

Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity, said something similar during a recent set visit, saying that her father would likely be wealthy and evil, but she couldn't say more than that.

While she hasn't commented herself on the idea, Charlotte Ross -- who plays Felicity's mother on Arrow -- retweeted three items about Amandes's casting: TVLine's original report, and two fan tweets that names The Calculator as Felicity's father.
