No Ordinary Family and Scandal actor Tom Amandes will join the cast of Arrow's fourth season as The Calculator, TVLine reports.
The Calculator is the evil counterpart to Oracle in the pre-Flashpoint DC Universe, brokering information and establishing relationships between villains. He's best known as a foe to Batman and the Birds of Prey, but became a DC Universe villain during a short stint in Justice League International and the Identity Crisis miniseries.
Here's the official description of the character in-series: "A criminal mastermind and technical genius, The Calculator — aka Noah Kuttler — uses his advanced skills in computer science and internet manipulation to blackmail Roy (Colton Haynes) out of retirement to do his bidding, which leads to an epic battle with Team Arrow."
It sounds like his two-episode arc will start in Episode 12, then, which is currently filming. That's when Roy Harper returns, and the first episode for director Kevin Fair, who helmed a number of Smallville episodes, including the finale.
Given how keen Damien Darhk was to pull Green Arrow's mask off when he had the hero trussed up like a Thanksgiving turkey not long ago, it doesn't seem unreasonable to think The Calculator might be gathering intel on Team Arrow for Darhk.
Arrow is on hiatus this week for Thanksgiving in the U.S., but will resume next week for a two-night, two-part crossover with The Flash, which will set up DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
