Pokken Tournament's roster just got a major upgrade. The Japanese magazine CoroCoro revealed three new Pokemon for the highly anticipated Pokemon fighting game. Garchomp, Braixen and Mewtwo will all be playable characters for the Wii U version of Pokken Tournament, increasing its roster size to 15 characters (with one playable boss character).

According to the magazine, Garchomp (who was one of the five Pokemon we suggested would be a great fit for Pokken Tournament) will use Power moves such as Dragon Rush and Sand Tomb. Braixen, the evolved form of Generation 6 starter Fennekin, will use mainly distance attacks although it also wields a long stick to use in close quarters. Braixen is currently featured in the Pokemon anime as the main Pokemon of Serena, Ash's newest female companion. Presumably, Mewtwo will be a "powered down" version of the Shadow Mewtwo character already announced as a boss character for the game.

Pokken Tournament has not been given a release date yet in North America, but it's widely expected to come out this spring.
